Charleston has survived many natural disasters. One of the worst was an earthquake that was so strong it rang church bells in Boston.
Charles Vane had a really bad run of luck. His crew mutinies and sets him adrift. He survives only to be shipwrecked. Again, he survives, but is captured and tried for piracy.
